Learn more about Coral Springs History
Coral Springs just passed its 43rd anniversary. Have you ever wondered what was here before 1963? You can catch a glimpse of it in the Historical Coral Springs display case at the entry to the Center for the Arts.
A new exhibit at the entrance to the Center for the Arts entitled “EXTINCT!” displays the creatures that lived in Coral Springs 10,000 years ago. Life-size replicas of skulls and real fossils illustrate scope and diversity of the animals that roamed along the river that flowed through Mullins Park. A companion coloring book, “EXTINCT!” is available free of charge at City Hall and City Hall in the Mall. Next spring a life size sculpture of a glyptodont will be created in the Park.
Another exhibit can be seen at the entrance to the main room of the Northwest Regional Library. It showcases “SOUVENIRS THROUGH THE YEARS”, items produced by the City for special events.
